Khaira is an independent Melbourne-based label with roots in Bali and is Indonesian/Australian owned. 

My Balinese mother is a talented seamstress who has always considered creation in her identity - her love dates back more than 30 years ago when she was sewing together leather jackets and accessories in Kuta long before I was born. It comes as no surprise that I share the same love and fascination with fashion as my mother. With her encouragement I decided to begin my own journey in fashion and accessories through Khaira.

Today, Khaira's pieces are proudly crafted in Bali, not far from where my mother worked with leather more than three decades ago. Each bag is brought to life by a close-knit team of artisans who have worked together for almost a decade and love what they do. 

Just as my mother and ancestors passed their knowledge and creativity to me, I hope Khaira pieces will carry their own stories through generations to come.
